Word from Aledo is that Coach Welter will be moving on to Monticello. I am going to make a few calls to see if I can confirm this.

Hate to say I was right, but Bloom knows that this was in the talks since November.
I wish nothing but the best to Coach Welter and his family. He's always been a standup guy to deal with from my standpoint, and even before I got this job he was always friendly whenever I was at the school or playing pickup basketball. I never played for the guy, but I'm sure he was great to play for and be coached by. He'll surely be missed in the community.
Best of luck with the Sages!!!

Monticello Board of Education met last night, but they did not hire a football coach.

The program has taken the 2nd downward slide. Ever to return? This has to be the dumbest comment ever. Downward slide??? 7 losses in the last four years....5 of the 7 by the eventual state champs. Where do you come up with this stuff? What area program is even close. People thought we were going to be hurt when we left the Olympic Conference. Could someone please tell me how bad the Olympic Conference has become since we left.....absolutely horrible. What program should we pattern ourself after?

Since you are a little on the slower side mentally I'll go ahead and explain.
First whoops on your part-no, one mentioned anything about wins and losses. Dumb@ss.
1st turn I would consider losing a legendary name a significant downward turn.
2nd turn-losing a future IHSA HoF coach.
Quick question, maybe EVEN you can answer. How many State titles has Aledo won since they left the Olympic?
Another quick question where do YOU come up with this stuff?
Next I can explain the game of football if you would like, since you have shown to know very little about it and that is a bit odd since this is a football board.
"Ourself", lol. Says the permanent fan. I can't help but picture a Doyce or TBewley here.

Bloom, you're far too easy to debate. We can do this all day. How many state titles has the mighty Olympic won since we left. Better yet, how may playoff games have they won???
Three coaches were on the committee coming up with the new name--Welter, Dennison, Stockham, and even Ruggles. Those guys are okay with it....give me a break downward slide. They can accept it but you can't. If a nickname has something to do with winning and losing, will you please tell me what the mighty Green Dragon nickname has meant to girls athletics. A real legendary name for them.
About Tbewley or Doyce Histhingys....much smarter than you. Lets do a poll on that.
Comparing Welter leaving and changing the nickname is just dumb. One has something to do with winning and losing the other does not.
Give me a better argument....you look foolish.

Not in the least.
You have yet to address anything on point or recognize you were wrong in your initial interpretation.
And the thing about T and D, lmao. Oh my. Yes a poll on here would certainly be credible. By all means.
Um, Dennison, Stockham and Ruggles...ok. Wow.
Please copy and paste the quote where I compared the two. I'll wait.
We can gladly do this all day. I would much rather do it face to face.

The mighty Olympic Conference you speak of--all 7 schools have won a grand total of five playoff games since Aledo has left. This in the crappy expanded 8-class version of playoff football. That's a serious downward slide. Aledo on the other hand, on their own has won 7 post-season games.
Laugh all you want about Dennison, Stockham and Ruggles, and again Welter, they are okay with the name change. Like I said, what does the mighty Green Dragon name mean to other programs in Aledo. Nothing. The name change will have zero impact--on winning and losing for football or any other sport.
I enjoy reading your stuff, but it's fun to argue with you, because you take it so serious. Your right very little, and I mean very little.
Like I said, dumbest comment ever.
By the way, aledofootball.com endorsed Mike Bertelsen for State Senate and they will be endorsing Terry Bewley for Aledo City Council.

D coach he gone...
March 6, 2009--The Aledo School District losing a coach and teacher to the Rockridge School District. On Monday night, March 9th, the Rockridge School Board is expected to act on the hiring of Tom Hasson as a Junior High PE teacher next school year, according to the Unit 300 Board of Education agenda. Hasson has been an assistant on the Aledo football coaching staff since 1999, serving as defensive coordinator under head coach Cully Welter. He's also taught driver's ed in the Aledo School District.

Just received a few texts from some football players and Cully made it official at a meeting with the players and informed them that he is leaving. Lets hope the other rumor comes true about a certain coach from the south that is interested in the job and they hire him.
