It's interesting how the OLY... declined over the year's.
Who's all in the 'Big River's' conference.... I'm pretty sure 'Riverdale and Morrison are.... Fulton? Ampipe?
Interesting how the 'WPT' disbanded - as well....I thought that was the 'future' of Illinois small HS football?

one has to wonder how the dismay of the "oly" is linked to aledo's departure...
wpt=sad out of carthage, oly=at least has history

This has been stated before, but the the mighty Olympic Conference you speak of--all 7 schools have won a grand total of five playoff games since Aledo has left. This in the crappy expanded 8-class version of playoff football. That's great history. We were the Olympic Conference history. We left, there is no history. Come on, B(loom)ea quit defending the Oly, you're better than that.

sherrard has had some solid teams over the years. Are you high? ? You call that history. Cambridge, United, Stark County-twice, Wethersfield, have all played on the turf.....then throw us in and Illini West. Give me a break about Monmouth--they haven't won anything since the 80s and again, Rockridge and Sherrard haven't even made the playoffs in how many years. Come on, you've got to edit that post B(loom)ea and take out the "Sherrard has had some solid teams over the years". Wait.........wasn't their best team ever.......beat by..............Alwood/Rowva.....out of the LTC.

laughing......still laughing.....still laughing.....i'm done......wait....still laughing......still laughing......okay, i'm done. B(loom)ea, you just can't stay away. i'm glad you've stayed. i love reading your stuff....you football expert, you!
Not only history, let's talk about future too. How do those mighty Oly schools stack up in future years. Seriously, do any of those schools scare you. Didn't Illini West score like 7,000 points against scary Macomb in the playoffs this season.

when people become emotionally involved as you are, you tend to lose objectivity such is the case here making the debate from that side almost null and void.
i still think it's pretty histerical how you think i am "bloom". too funny keep with that theme.

you tend to lose objectivity such is the case here making the debate from that side almost null and void. This from a guy who's argument is based on the statement "sherrard has had some solid teams over the years" The Olympic was an average conference with Aledo in it.....they're a doormat now. If it's that great a conference with all this history, how come schools are beating down the door to join. "Sherrard has some solid teams over the years".....so has Westmer.

i would without a doubt say the Tigers had some solid teams under DeSutter, Anderson and Schaffer.

Under Schaeffer, Sherrard participated in the playoffs yearly. The problem was they were playing against Alleman and Spring Valley hall, in their hay-days. With Lawson at QB and Harkey at RB and Dave Williams at full back an linebacker, Sherrard had alot of success.

you're correct coach, but I wouldn't call that a rich history or tradition. it's a two maybe three year run. i can say the same about westmer--two of their playoff teams ran into newman and carthage or they would have went farther. but to say they have history, like saying sherrard does, is a long stretch.
